This one started as me just wanting to play with a palette knife and see what happened. I wasn’t trying to make anything precise—more like letting the colors and texture find their own way. The light in the center came first, that bright yellow-white glow, and once it showed up it felt like the whole painting needed to revolve around it. The shapes on either side aren’t meant to be literal trees or hills, but they give just enough structure so your eye knows it’s a landscape. I liked how the knife created those rough, broken edges in the sky and the water, almost like everything is shifting a little. The reflection was fun to pull down—just dragging the paint enough to echo the sky without making it too perfect. It’s an 11x14 acrylic, but it feels bigger because of all the movement. Mostly, it was me experimenting and enjoying the process, and I like that it still has that loose, exploratory energy.
